Hey team, I’ve had a constant buffering issue plaguing me for a while. I’m rocking an AMD 5900x, 32GB of ram, wifi 6 with validated throughput of 1.2 Gbps to a local server on the network. I can’t seem to figure out why I’m having a hard time with buffering. Movies are in 1080p, stored on a drobo 5D3 connected via USB 3.0. I can read and write at 100MBps to and from the 5D3, and it’s running the latest firmware.
I’d like to understand how to read the logs and what to look for. Does anyone have a PMS Log crash course? Preferably one that doesn’t parrot the same basic “check your internet speed, 4K is demanding on your CPU”… RTX 3070… checked to make sure that media server wasn’t contending for any other resources. Also tested it with a hardwired 10G NIC… and hardwired the TV… even handling a 7Mbps stream of 1080p fights me a lot.
