Hey team,
So having a hard time identifying a buffering issue on Plex Media Server hosted on Windows. I am an IT guy with a 20 year background, so most of the standard stuff has been checked out (CPU, Memory, Network util, etc). Ryzen 3900X, 32GB (%12 util during testing), Storage is a Drobo 5D3 with all disks running 8TB, 7200 Ironwolf drives connected through the USB 3.0 (5Gbps capable). RTX 3070 with latest drivers and PMServer allowed to use hardware.
While streaming just a single feed over the LAN, I run into buffering issues on multiple clients (IOS, Roku TV, windows 10 clients, etc). I’ve run lan speed test which showed a network speed of near gigabit while hardwired in and 600Mbps while wireless.
Even with the transcoding set to “Hurt my CPU” (Oh… 3900X is liquid cooled with a custom corsair loop running a 360mm radiator). and the allowed bitrate set to 6Mbps… I still get a lot of random buffering.
Where at in the logs would I start looking for errors? Logs look a bit overwhelming.
