If I run a library scan of TV shows or 4K TV Shows, Plex will not update the database to remove old versions of the show which I have upgraded (eg: when going from a web-dl version to a remux).
More recently, Plex has begun marking content as unavailable when it actually is.
I’m running plex on a linux ubuntu 18.04 within docker using the linuxserver/plex:latest image.
It looks like a permissions issue on the face of it however my sudo user PUID is set to 1000 and Plex’s PUID is also set to 1000.
I’m sure it’s a simple fix but any advice would be appreciated

Make sure Server Settings → Settings → Library → ‘Empty Trash automatically after every scan’ is check marked. Then to test if it works, go to Manage → Libraries-> (What ever library is having the issue) → hover over and click the three dots at the end → Scan Library Files (Wait for it to finish) → Under the three dots click Empty trash. You’ll get a warning message, but proceed anyway.
After that my shows were corrected. hope it works for you as well!
Cheers man. I think that I’ve found the fault lies with autoscan which is a 3rd party docker app which purports to be better than Plex’s internal scanning system (and in many ways it is) however some bugs which I can’t iron out.
Have reverted back to Plex standard settings and all well
