After adding new content, none of it is showing up in my library. Filenames are consistent with entries that are showing up. Uninstalling and reinstalling Plex Server did not resolve the issue. Is there a way to wipe the library in the database and start over? Your help is appreciated, I would like to view my new content!
Dude…don’t wipe your database. Worst case scenario just manually scan. I see this off and on with new updates with my libraries. Right now, my TV Show library is affected. But, you just manually scan and if should show up.
Having this exact same issue on Version 1.32.0.6918 , but my Plex library for TV Shows has also selectively removed the most recent (active) season of a number of shows that I have added files to recently (ie Mandalorian, Ted Lasso etc). I have tried all of the database options, refresh all metadata, empty trash etc). My play history has also removed the instances where I watched the previous episodes of the current season of the TV Shows that were removed from the library.
Clicking scan library files manually, I get a momentary flash of the activity icon, then it stops.
@mmwendell Im seeing: Apr 12, 2023 17:09:04.626 [14896] WARN - Filesystem error (boost::filesystem::directory_iterator::construct: The system call level is not correct [system:124]: "M:\") during scanning: 124 in "M:\"
Thanks @dbirch the linked article and rolling back to the previous server version fixed it for me. Looks to be an SMB1 issue in the latest server build for scanning only, as previously added media was still able to played through the UNC mapped drive. The old Thecus N7700PRO doesn’t support SMB2, so will stick with Version 1.31.3.6868 for now.
Having the exact same issue. TV shows as well as audio files. Last time it successfully worked seems to be around April 12 2023. Same time I did my update, Seems suspicious to me??
So I found out for me it was the music and audiobooks (music library) on my Synology that was causing a lack of scanning in TV Show library. Something about maxing out the name / database capacity something or other with music. I shut off the automatic scanning on my music and audiobooks libraries and TV shows now automatically scan when new media added, changed, removed.
Not a huge deal for me because I add more TV and movie media than music and audiobooks. Maybe this is something others with Linux based servers need to look at? Maybe?
for me, running plex on Ubuntu, this was the issue when automatic scanning stopped working:
it involved math, and I’ve had to do it a couple times.
Not sure if it’s related to what you are seeing on Synology or if it’s something you can even adjust.
