Server Version#: 4.76.1

I am seeing many of the same issues others in this thread have had. Cannot play MVK files anymore, and going back to previous versions doesn’t resolve the issue.
Noticed the following “easyaudioencoder” errors in the logs.

I have read every forum post on this matter, and it doesnt appear to be DNS related as I can resolve that URL. Permissions have not changed either.

Getting the exact same thing. Guessing there’s a server issue going on at Plex.

HTTP error code 429 means there has been too many attempts to access the resource in a certain length of time. AKA rate limited.

Try again later.

That XML file pulls up for me in the browser.

Thank you @kryndis for confirming. I’ve spent too many hours troubleshooting everything today, so it’s good to know it’s not just me. Appreciate the info on the retries @kegbeach

@kryndis playback randomly just started working for me, after being down for 1.5 days. So hopefully it’s working for you now too!

@cadocomp Still no joy here, but hopefully this means whatever the problem is is being resolved.

Stop trying to use media that requires that codec for a while. You’re being rate limited for trying too often.

What’s interesting is that we don’t watch much on Plex, and our viewing habits haven’t changed in the past 6 years of using Plex. We did recently change our ISPs from Xfinity to T-Mobile Home 5G the day before I noticed this issue. I’m curious if the codec servers see this traffic coming from “cell carrier addresses” and is doing some kind of rate limiting.
The issue came back after allowing us to play the first few mins of a show, so we are back in the same situation as before now.

That is totally possible since cell carrier public IP’s are shared among many users so it makes sense…

Good news is that once the updated codec is downloaded you should be good to go for a while…
