Logs : Server Logs
For the past week or more I have been getting “Playback Error Conversion Failed. The Transcoder Exited Due to and Error”, as well as many remote users on different devices. This only happened maybe once in 6 months before, but now it is a multiple times a day thing. I would rather not downgrade my server or tell all my users to not use subtitles (as these are the two most recent suggestions from other threads). When I look at the Server Logs, it doesn’t look to be a subtitle issue and instead is an actual issue with the transcoder and not being able to talk to it.
How can i check that? I know that it has been working perfectly fine for the past 6 months on this system (and for years before that on an older physical machine). It just got reported to me by a friend this past wednesday, then another friend, and now happening to me running locally even on a direct stream to a shield tv (other people are on appletv and then also through google chrome).
I will try rebooting, but with all of the recent windows update issues that have happened I am sort of wary about doing updates. It does seem to be about the last time that i updated to the current PMS version.
I appreciate your help with all of this and will let you know what rebooting does for it.
I do have Tautulli running on there as well, but I am the only one that has access to that. I am reviewing the logs right now as I took another suggestion to change the scan interval up to 12 hours. I will let you know if I see any more happening.
So, just looked and the last time this happened was at 11:01am
I compared Windows Event Log (id 4227) with Plex errors and saw that I did have a 4227 event at 11:01am and that is exactly when I had another Transcoder error
TCP/IP failed to establish an outgoing connection because the selected local endpoint was recently used to connect to the same remote endpoint. This error typically occurs when outgoing connections are opened and closed at a high rate, causing all available local ports to be used and forcing TCP/IP to reuse a local port for an outgoing connection. To minimize the risk of data corruption, the TCP/IP standard requires a minimum time period to elapse between successive connections from a given local endpoint to a given remote endpoint.
I did see in another post port issues (this post) which I had posted there as well, but didn’t get any responses yet.
How do I get a plexdev to look at all of this? I would rather help fix the current issues than roll back the server as I don’t want the issue to go unresolved and instead help to get it fixed.
Sorry, just posted to the other ticket where you were.
I will put it all here as well.
Happened in the past 15-30 mins and just ran the commands as well as exported the request events. updated server logs attached as well : Documents.zip (564.5 KB) Plex Media Server Logs_2020-04-19_12-32-48.zip (6.5 MB)
