Can anyone help me with my ‘core components error’ on my windows pc? I don’t know what’s wrong. I have never seen this issue in 10 years of using Plex. It suddenly doesn’t work anymore. I completely deleted all my plex files and server, then downloaded a new one, but still no luck. Please, help! Here are my logs. Thanks!
Same issue with my mac
Same issue here with Windows 11, fresh new installation of Windows, used Plex for several years, never had this problem, I think its a bug in the latest Plex build. I can still add my libraries, and hit finish, and I can access my content afterwards, but when I start a new browser and access my Plex server I get this same error message
Just installed Plex server from Windows store, and that one works fine
We are aware of the problem and are already looking into it. Right now I am collecting reports and information (your report is one of them) and we have people looking into this issue. Thank you for the report, we will have more information as soon as it is available.
I think it’s an issue with the latest version\. Picked the worst possible day to build a new plex server PC. Spent like 12 hours yesterday smashing my head against a wall trying to fix this. Then to rub salt into the wound every other time I log into the webUI it asks me for more than $300 for a lifetime membership. Like bro, I can’t even make it work properly.
I confirm this also worked for me after first attempting to run the server downloaded from the plex website. Thanks for mentioning this, Wallyn!
Ya Microsoft (older version) fix worked for me. Thanks Wallyn_tor
I also want to confirm that if you are building a new server, that a previous version will work. I’ve been beating my head against the wall for 12+ hours, only to solve the problem with the last version I downloaded 4 months ago…
PlexMediaServer-1.41.5.9522-a96edc606-x86_64
Thanks, Wallyn_tor for the idea!
This has been addressed, we started an information thread here if you want the latest version number with this issue fixed: PMS v1.42.1 Core Component Error Workaround and Information - #5 by McWanke
