I Need Help Please

Hello, I had recently reset my Windows PC to clean it out. I have done this many of times without any issues. This time after I had reset it and I had installed the Plex Media Server, a message popped up saying “ A Problem has been with a core component of Plex Media Server.” I thought I may have done something wrong so I reset my Windows again and after resetting, and installing Plex Media Server again, I still got the same message. Like I said, I had reset my PC several times before and never seen this message pop up. I did attach my Server Logs if that would help. I don’t know whats wrong. Can someone please help me with this issue?

There is a problem with PMS 1.42.1.10054. Plex is aware of the issue and working to find a solutions.

There are many others experiencing the same thing: https://forums.plex.tv/search?q=core%20component%20after%3A2025-08-07%20order%3Alatest

If you’ve an older version of PMS, you could install it instead. Otherwise, nothing for you to do but wait for Plex to fix things.

If you do fall back to an older release, be aware of the security problem with PMS 1.41.7 to 1.42.0: Plex Media Server - Security Update

Thanks. I really appreciate you answering my question.

I guess I’ll wait for them to fix it. Hopefully we want have to wait long for them to fix it. I don’t know how to find the older versions of PMS to install it.

Update from Plex with workaround. All comments / questions / etc. should be posted to the new thread.
