I haven’t used Plex for quite a few years. I recently swapped the HDD I had an old plex server installed on from a bricked laptop to a new (used) one and upgraded windows 7 to windows 10 (not windows 11 compatible). I then upgraded plex server from the 32 bit install that was on the HDD to the latest 64 bit server. after install it attempts to update library but the progress bar never progresses and a “Corrupt Database” error message pops up. I tried following the instructions here: https://support.plex.tv/articles/repair-a-corrupted-database with no luck. To be honest I’m not sure what I’m doing in SQLite, but I tried my best. I tried uninstalling and deleting registry files and doing a fresh install with no change.

I’m fine with starting over with compiling a new database. I don’t think I had any backups to restore, anyway. No idea how to proceed I just would like to use Plex again, I remember really enjoying it. Thanks

Perform a complete uninstall: https://support.plex.tv/articles/201941078-uninstall-plex-media-server/

Then reboot the computer and use the newest Plex Media Server installer .exe.
After the installation has been run, you will have to connect the server to your plex.tv user account, before you can use it.
This article explains the procedure: New Claiming Requirement for Windows

I tried claiming the server and what came up on the browser after right-clicking plex > Open Plex… from the tray was this:

what am I doing wrong?

I downloaded the server to another computer and it works like it should on that laptop but I want to use the one that already has my media on it.

Did you really perform the complete uninstallation, as detailed in my first link?

Sorry, you are correct. I didn’t delete the local files. somehow I missed that. Issue resolved, Thanks!
