In my opinion, the current update process in Plex for Windows is absolutely horrible: Launch the app, wait an unspecified amount of time for a background download, close the app, relaunch the app and hopefully receive the notification to install what might have been downloaded.
Vs Plex Media Player: Launch the app, receive notification that an update is available, click yes to download and install.
