I demand an answer from devs

Is work in progress with Plex windows store app? When will the next update come out?

Even Wallpaper Studio 10 recently launched an update! How come you guys being such a big community, ignore this?

Because podcasts, smart tv’s, web shows and news are somehow more important.
My biggest gripe is that we were promised updates, a poll was held andcever since, nothing.

Whats most shocking is that the Plex store app isn’t even capable to play some 720p mkvs! I mean
that’s quite basic, right? If they didn’t fix this , then whats point of existence of this in the store?

I have noticed one thing, though. The movies/tv shows which aren’t playing in Plex also don’t play in the Microsoft’s official ‘Films & TV’ app. So could it be a glitch on Microsoft’s part. However the ‘VLC’ store app is able to play those mkvs flawlessly.

Both plex and the movies and TV app use the same playback engine so that’s why you’re having issues with them. Try PMP instead.

Plex doesn’t post roadmaps or upcoming release dates. The general consensus is that the Windows app isn’t going to be updated and folks should use the Plex Media Player downloaded directly from the Plex website.

Also not sure what gave you the idea that Plex the company is “big” — I’ve always had the impression they’re rather understaffed.

But PMP doesn’t cut it for those of us with Surfaces or 2 in 1 devices as touch is horrendous and there’s no sync option.
I’ve long given up on getting any answer or update from Plex.

+1 to this

I m basically on my computer most of the time. so, I watch movies here only on my 27" asus monitor because my smart tv apparently isn’t smart enough to support plex.

Why not use browser?

the reason we can not use a browser as that this doesn’t allow offline sync.

Yup, offline sync and a decent touch interface are the main features I’d need.

because people paid for the Windows Store app - because it looks better, and looks is what this whole thing is all about.
You could ask why not simply double click on a movie file in File Manager and use the excellent VLC player?

I am in the same boat. I have smart Samsung blu ray player with a decent Plex application connected to the family TV. But most of the time I watch movies on my 25" PC monitor, because my wife watches her favourite youtube and TV catch up on her laptop.
I have some 200 movies and similar number of TV shows. I need subtitles even for english language movies.
I went through a tedious process of making sure that all my movies are MKV container with AVC video codec. I converted those which were not using XMedia Recode.
There seem to be a problem with SRT subtitles on the Windows sore player, so I converted all SRT subtitles to ASS using Subtitle Edit. That gives me control over font, colour and position of the subtitles on the screen. Then I “stripped” the SRT subtitles from the movie files using MKVtoolNix. I use the ASS subtitles as external subtitles, and are placed together with the movie file in a separate folder. With the Subtitles Edit I also fixed the common faults, which most SRT subtitles have, specially those from foreign language movies.

It was a lenghty tedious process, but I now have a working system that looks quite robust.
I only have a couple of minor gripes with the Windows Store app player - viz a separate post.

Has Any Dev answered this yet.
I was just on their normal web page to fined tec help and cannot find any way to contact a Dev directly?

Time is enough I have been stuck using a iPad while carrying a surface pro 4 just so I can have my sync content everywhere.

I have all my content on a synology why would I want to copy this is my surface for when out and about? sync should work and we should have a stable app!

Win 10 surface devices will be the future for technical mobile users who use plex.

Plex is not for the normal technophobes out there so why have it on a nintendo game boy thing and not on a full PC in a tablet running a proper OS like W10!

The devs are completely ignoring any issue related to the store app! I so wish I could sue them!

That would be one way. lol

Not sure why they would ignore the Main OS in the world lol

There must be some one on here with direct contact with them?

ignoring Win10 app is a kick after investing a lot in a 5 bay Nass that can run PLEX been a Pass member since the beginning, and they are more interested in a game boy thing app than a Win 10 app.

Wow. The mods/devs are truly professionals

At ignoring.

While we keep exploding ourselves with complaints, they mock us by seeming to overlook our complaints!

Bump will there be any answer to this?

Or is the win 10 app finished with?
