Could the DEV look into reducing the size of PMS folder

this is after a optimize and bundles clean out…

This is movies and TV shows only…

Any way of getting rid of the extra movie posters for a movie.

Usually, large amounts of data for Plex is the result of the “Enable video preview thumbnails” option. This causes Plex to save massive numbers of thumbnail images taken from your movies. If disk space is at a premium, you may need to turn that feature off.

No I have that off…

Was it ever on? Have you looked at the data files to see if they are thumbnail images?

I can’t imagine poster images taking up that much space. Unfortunately, Plex has no way via the UI to remove unused posters (there are feature requests to add this).

How many movies/TV shows in your library?

I’ve never had the preview thumbnails enabled, just because it would take up so much space over what I already see.

Some movies have 40 posters, all different languages etc. only one is selected, and is needed. Would be nice to be able to limit it, I would set it at 1… or let the Admin chose the poster and then remove all others.

I agree. This feature request could use your vote.

I would If I could but my votes are tied up, I’m at my limit.

Since they don’t seem to be adding the requested features, the votes are not being returned to the voters,

There are feature requests that are 6+ years old…

Ah, yeah, mine are spent too.

Some have been implemented, but feature requests aren’t the only factors in their planning. Even some popular features may never be implemented because of issues we don’t know. Most software is like that. They said they will close requests that they have decided to not implement, but I haven’t seen it actually happen. And the forum software doesn’t automatically remove votes when the thread is closed, even though the forum software provider said it would.

Well they said that they would look at features based on the votes, that’s why we vote for features.

If that’s not the case then why have us ask for features if they have no intent on acting on it no matter how many votes it gets.

And if there is a reason why not to add a feature say so, return the votes, we move on.
But Plex leaving us up in the air and no vision in sight, just doing what they want, doesn’t sit well with many.

And their inability to maintain the core of Plex, mainly it’s media management has driven a few of us to find other options to manage the media.

Anyone want to take odds on when we would get an answer from Plex on this…
