If log is needed, I’ll share but seems like many other posts do share logs on very similar issues. Is there a fix or being worked on for to address this issue?
I’d like to know. I’m getting this constantly but with just the Mac server…when anything shows up at all.
@wyldemusick - after playing around with the settings, (for now) adding the network IP address and subnet (network section from the settings) helped to minimize the “couldn’t retrieve the play queue for this item” and/or randomly losing 4K contents without doing anything. May be totally random and the network may not have anything to do with this issue but Plex seems to be very random when it comes to being unhappy time to time. Nothing is never consistent with this software as it just goes bad like a dinner left out for days… I am getting sick of tinkering with settings with this crappy software.
I hear that. The Windows version just stabilized (it used to crash regularly when adding media, running a full library update, and so on) but now the Mac version just…vanishes. Usually not a crash, it just vanishes, often while doing sonic analysis, sometimes while doing database maintenance.
I can get it back for a few hours if I reboot it half a dozen times and then just wait. But at some point it’ll get, well, congealed, start having trouble serving tracks, and then…ghost.
Just wanted to share some update. Since we traded couple of comments, as of yesterday, I stopped seeing the error message on this topic within my environment. I have NOT done anything except to update the server module and the error message doesn’t appear anymore. My set up is M1 Mac mini (default with 8GB), PMS version of 1.30.2.6563, ATV 128GB latest version on WIFI (xfinity) and running the 6.12 AiOS and 8.12 version of Plex client on ATV. I was able to continuously play multiple 4K (without transcoding) files without getting the “couldn’t retrieve…” error. Hope you were able to get the similar experience after updating the PMS with the latest version.
