Receiving “Couldn’t retrieve the play queue for this item. Please try again” error on some media files. (Mostly on movies and tv shows)
This happens not on all devices but is very frustrating. The issue started after purchasing a Lifetime Plex Pass. Not sure if that is related. Can share the logs if necessary, however, I don’t see any errors/warnings posted in the console either.
I found some workarounds to this issue on my PC and on my iPhone.
On PC, when I select the media file I want to play and click on the 3 dots and select Play Next, the media plays fine.
On the iPhone, I choose watch together functionality and pick a friends account first. Then starting the media file works just fine.
Not sure what is the difference but playing the media file directly does not work.
Could not find a workaround on Android TV so far.
It looks like this is an issue for multiple people for a while and we need a solution. I don’t get how this issue isn’t prioritized. It is been around for 2 years now.
