OK, I’ve got the server on my PC, and I currently use the app on my Sony TV and my iPhone (paid the $4.99). Today, my daughter tried to use Plex on her iPad. First, we went to the website and signed on there. It prompted us to enter the 4 digit code shown on the app. Which app?! I opened the one on my phone, the Windows app, and logged in to the web server on my PC. I didn’t see a code anywhere. Where is it supposed to be?
Then, I decided to just buy the app on her iPad. I clicked upgrade, then got the message like “someone else in your family has bought the app so you don’t have to” (she is on my shared Apple family plan). I clicked OK, but then got a message that something had gone wrong, and was back to where I started. Not sure where to go from here. Can someone help me out? Tried everything I could think of. Thanks!
if you are using a web browser and going to https://app.plex.tv and are seeing this.

Then you need to enter your account pin which is whatever you set to to be in your users and Sharing settings where it says ( set/edit PIN) ( It is not going to display the code, you have to know it.) if you have a PIN set there will a green lock icon next to your name. if you do not it will be a grey open lock icon.
There should be a button to “restore purchases” see here. after that then you need to sign in and then switch to her account (assuming her account is a “managed” user)

It sounds like you went to http://plex.tv/link
You only need to go there when a Plex app requests it to verify your account. If that were the case the app would have displayed the required 4 character code.
I think at first I was doing the wrong thing trying to watch through the Safari browser on her iPad. I found another thread and that pointed me to the “Launch” button on the menu under my account. That seems to be working now without the need for any PIN. I think the PIN was trying to link my account with some other device, which I wasn’t doing.

I hadn’t noticed you could scroll down on that screen! I clicked Restore Purchase and it said that it couldn’t find a purchase. I tried the purchase thing again and got “Uh-oh” again. But then I tried to play a movie and it worked, and I’m not getting the pop-up after 30 seconds or whatever, so maybe somehow it worked?! I don’t know, but I guess I’ll go with it for now. Thanks for the help!
