CPU at 100% even when nothing playing

Version 1.19.4.2935 running on a dedicated Windows 10 PC with no other software installed.

My server spends at least 3 hours a day using 100% CPU even when nothing is being played. This is not scheduled maintenance as it’s happening outwith the defined times. At the same time there always seems to be around 10mbps of network usage.

I downloaded the latest server version and ran it using the only option it gave me, which was ‘repair’, but it made no difference.

I’ve checked all the relevant settings that I can identify from other threads on this forum (especially transcoding) and all appear to be correctly set. This is rendering the server unusable.

This is a new issue, having only appeared in the last 10 days or so. The server has been ‘up’ for around 5 years (with reboots now and then!) with no issues at all up until this.

Anyone got any ideas?

Did you allow some of your users to Sync media to their mobile devices?

Do you or one of your users use Plexamp?

Did you enable the DLNA server in Plex? If so, disable it again and watch the cpu load for a few days.

Enable ‘Debug Logging’ in the server. That way you can inspect log files and see what the server is doing when there is high cpu load.

No users, home use only.
DLNA is disabled.

Exactly the same issue here. Plex is spending most of the day doing… something… This is absolutely a new thing in the latest version.
