PS4 with Plex client 2.5.7
Server Version 0.9.16.6
The client crashes when exiting a video playback session. If I stop the video at the begining, middle, or end the client always crashes. Doesnt matter what video plays it always crashes.
I have delted and reinstalled Plex client and same crash
Crash occurs when exiting the Plex client during playback of any video file
Happens at 15:06 and I exited the Plex server at 15:07

This only occurs on PS4. The Android, XBOX 360, XBOX ONE, and ROKU clients don’t crash
Same here, even with 2.6.3. I can load it and start something, but if I stop video crash or even say view a tv show then back up and view something else boom crash (even without playing any video).
Also, how is the ps4 media remote not coded for? Definitely the main and really only remote people use so uh why not enable more of it’s useful buttons?
Just moved to ps4 and sucks the plex client and remote (though Xbox 360 is the same way) aren’t more stable and usable really bums me out. Beautiful plex collection and have to reload client if I even just view more than one item in a session. Head scratcher.
Please, please, please try to bring client stability up.
Im guessing there is going to be no comment about these problems? They used to only happen occasionally but now its unbearable, its happening AT BEST after watching an episode of something, at worst it crashes when viewing anything, pausing, basically any action makes it crash. Whats going on? I got no other problems with any other type of player
Don’t let them tell you it’s corrupt data on your hard drive, or the PS4 OS.
I just backed up, erased everything, did a full initialization, installed ONLY PLEX when it booted, and it still crashed constantly.
Didn’t even restore data yet.
Literally the only things on the ps4 were the ps4 factory OS, and PLEX.
It’s not Rockstar causing this with corrupt GTA5 files…that is pure bs. Don’t believe it.
Hi everyone, I’m a user like yourselves - primarily Plexweb and android but do use the Playstation app on occasion. I’ve touched base with the admin team and the official word from the developer team is.
“That’s an out of memory crash in PS4. PS4 doesn’t page memory to disk when it runs out it just crashes. By default we get around 230 MB of ram, in our new release they will give us up to 300mb and we have also fixed some of their leaks so it should get better once we get the release out.”
Working with Playstation’s QA makes it hard for them to give us any sort of definitive timeframe for the fix. It’s possible it could be June before the next release.

It really is becoming unbearable. I’ve been experiencing the same exact thing for a while now, but it’s only getting worse. It’s even more disappointing that I can’t find a single thing on this site that will help me figure out why it’s happening. If the problem doesn’t get fixed real soon I’m just going to cancel my subscription and find an alternative because I’m tired of restarting the application 2342049 times to watch 3 episodes.
