Hello. I am an IT professional, running a Plex server for my household. I am also a lifetime Plex Pass holder, and avid supporter of the platform.
The PS4 application crashes regularly on my 2 PS4 consoles due to an out-of-memory issue, with the error code CE-34878-0. Both are original edition PS4 consoles, with upgraded HDDs only. The crash can be easily reproduced, and happens when a movie is selected from the main menu (before playback has begun). I would seem this is due to the artwork files or meta-data although “refreshing” this data and manually removing and re-adding the files does not help. I have also tried wiping and resetting the system software, and can reproduce the issue when Plex is the only new software added to the system.

What is causing this issue? It is very frustrating having the application crash, just because a specific movie or tv show is selected.
