Crashing repeatedly on 1.23.6.4881 Logs included

It’s really a bummer that PMS is 32 bit. I have plenty of RAM! But I suppose it’s easier just to make one app that works for everyone rather than 2.

I have disabled the refreshing metadata option and seems to have bypassed the crashing. Hopefully this gets fixed soon. Thank you!

Edit: as a side note, I have noticed a handful of crashes outside of scheduled tasks when trying to do memory intensive tasks so makes sense. Need to fix memory handling.

Sent you more logs and such for 2 more crashes

Thanks - I have analyzed the logs and dumps from the 6th October and 10th October and passed these to the development team. The 6th Oct memory climb was outside scheduled tasks period

For the 10th October issue - can you tell me what was running on 192.168.1.5 - it was continuously asking the server for metadata for media items in the library - There are loads of requests every second

That’s probably Overseerr running a library scan

I turned off all check marks on scheduled tasks and still crashing. Is there way to disable scheduled tasks all together?

I have seen evidence of Overseerr crashing the Plex Media Server with its high volume of requests per second

So plan of action:

  • Disable Overseerr and see if crashes stop
  • if the crashes continue, get fresh diagnostics
  • if the crashes stop happening, re-instate scheduled tasks refresh local metadata every 3 days
  • if the crashes re-appear get diagnostics again
  • if the crashes still are not coming back - then just abandon Overseerr and raise with the developer to see if there is a way to reduce the load on Plex Media Server - eg limiting the number of simultaneous requests and putting delays between them

I turned off overseerr, radarr, sonarr and changed the scheduled task time to 5am. It still crashes at 3:XXam. Same .dll file to blame. Really confused here. Sent you info

May be one instance of Overseerr still running

Can you tell me what was running on PC with IP address 192.168.1.6
Looks similar requests coming in to those from 192.168.1.5 which you said was Overseerr
Batches of 20 requests a second
