Crazy disk space usage for Music metadata - WTF?

I installed a new Plex server in the cloud and Music meta-data is eating up the disk (cloud disk space is at a premium!). My iTunes is on Dropbox - mounted by the cloud server.

du -sh /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Metadata/*
5.9G Albums
5.1G Artists
25M Movies
74M TV Shows

my old server (same Plex version)
1.4G Albums
502M Artists
351M Movies
616M TV Shows

(I have different movies/TV shows on each server because they aren’t all on Dropbox)

I checked the server/library settings and they are the same

2 GB for Albums+Artists is about right based on iTunes/Album Artwork. It would be better it Plex just used the existing iTunes artwork.

Both Plex servers are the same
Server Version# 1.18.3.2156-349e9837e

New server: Centos 7, mergerfs/rclone for Dropbox/sftp
Old server:: Ubuntu 18.0.4 LTS. ext4
