Crop black bars?

First of all wanna say awesome work with the Plex Connect.. cant thank u guys enough :) my question is: can u crop the black bars somehow? when i stream from my Samsung tv app i can choose to crop black bars from video with lower res (usually older shows) but i cant do it while using Plex connect.. so is this duable? maybe in the works with next release?

Thanks again guys!

I guess, that would be a feature request for PMS/the transcoder engine. I am not aware of aTV support for such.

My TV on the other hand has a "format" button, where it can zoom the picture or adapt 3:4 vs 16:9...

Firecore’s media app and XBMC both have this option on ATV it’s selectable as stretch 4:3 content to 16:9 for all content or you can do it on an individual basis per video.

They do not use the native ATV player and therefore require a jailbreak.
If the native player is not capable (it may be) then you would have to get the PMS to transcode to do this.
It might be better to check your TV manual as the is a pretty standard feature.

Ohh oki so its a transcode issue... well i tried to fix it by using another setting on my tv,, but it wouldent let me.. is it hard to change the code for it to force pms to do this transcode?

Another question, i have 2 versions of PlexConnect on my comp.. 1 version is your standard version and 1 version is the version with the new movie section.. the one with on deck, etc on the top.. is this layout something u will implement in your version aswell? i think it looks awesome..

Thanks again!

To the second question, yes it is coming but it is not a simple merge because we had to change a lot of things under the hood for bug fixes etc..

It is one of the main reasons the 0.1 release will be the last to support firmwares 5.01 and 5.0.2.
