A majority of my FLAC music files have embedded CUE text files within them, as well as external CUE files. I like to rip an entire album to preserve gaps and use the CUE sheets to play individual songs. This is supported in Foobar2000 and many other music players.
I'm a long time SageTV user and they never got that right. Plex doesn't seem to either. XBMC does it barely.
For now, all my music needs are supplied by the Squeezebox ecosystem, which is still the best. If somebody could step up to replace that (instead of treating music like an afterthought), I could get rid of it!
Yes! I would love to see this work in a way that single-file albums can still be handled like individual songs, based on the CUE sheet info. Or if you just let it play through the whole album, it plays verbatim like the CD/vinyl would. This would be awesome for 24/96 album flac files, esp. And I also rip certain CDs as single flac files (Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon, for example).

It’s been over a year since I put this out there and until it happens, I’m solidly in the Squeezebox/LMS camp and have to maintain two different ecosystems. It’s simply a must have feature as 90% of my music is this way!
Please get this introduced. Gapless is not possible without it. Please please please plex, I will need to look for alternative solution if this doesn’t become possible, and I’m finding Plex really good for TV and video shame about this, as it’s fantastic otherwise.
