Cursor visibility and vertical stretching when using HDMI switch.

Recently moved from PHT to OpenPHT to address an audio issue I was having, which OpenPHT has fixed. However, two new issues have come to light.

My system is a Core i7-based Mac mini running El Capitan and the latest versions of PMS and OpenPHT. It’s connected via HDMI to a Kinivo 501BN HDMI switch, which is in turn connected via HDMI to a Vizio 42" TV (720p, not sure of the model number off the top of my head). I use a Logitech Harmony remote to control everything and that works fine.

New Issue #1 is that occasionally — I haven’t been able to figure out the secret formula — the mouse cursor will remain visible all during movie playback. When it happens my only temporary recourse is to tuck the cursor in the lower-right corner (which generates a single white pixel, kind of annoying but not a deal breaker) while the movie plays. To eliminate it I have to restart the computer; just quitting and restarting OpenPHT and/or PMS doesn’t solve the issue.

New Issue #2 is more annoying and I’m not sure how to describe it without just explaining it. Let’s say my Mac is on the desktop (OpenPHT not running) at 720p resolution (correct for my TV) and I change the HDMI input on my Kinivo switch to something else, such as my PS4. If I switch back to my Mac desktop, it’s still correctly running at 720p. If I have any app running while I switch back and forth, like iTunes or Safari, when I switch back the Mac is still always correctly running at 720p. HOWEVER, if I’ve got OpenPHT running when I switch away and then switch back, when I switch back OpenPHT is vertically stretched, almost like it thinks it’s a 4:3 aspect screen, and the bottom “half” of the screen is not visible. It doesn’t matter if OpenPHT is playing a movie or just on one of the menu screens; it ALWAYS stretches. The only way to solve this is to quit and relaunch OpenPHT, so given that my Mac is always running OpenPHT this means that every time I switch away from the Mac, when I come back I need to quit and relaunch OpenPHT which is really annoying.

Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, rehashing this old post. I have the exact same problem as you re the mouse cursor.

Previous release of OpenPHT has this problem, it then went away, now all of a sudden its back. Anyone else having this issue?
