Sometimes Plex fails to use the folder.jpg and cover.jpg files. Sometimes music is uploaded that does not include artwork. Apple Music has a Smart Playlist filter for Album Artwork is true/false. This request is for the same within the Plex music Customer Filter. This would give me a concise view of all the albums and artists which require their missing artwork to be resolved.
Most of my music is FLAC. The albums are sorted as recommended; Artist folder [folder.jpg] > Album folder [cover.jpg]. Plex is set to Album Art: Local Files Only. Scanner is Plex Music Scanner. Agent is Person Media Artists. Plex Server 1.21.3.4014 [QNAP].
For items that Plex has missed, I can usually select the artist and Refresh Metadata. Other times I may need to manually update the artwork. Regardless, I’m requesting the ability to collate these items so I don’t have to scroll through thousands of artists in my library.
I’m sure I’m not the only Plex user who’s susceptible to irritation when finding missing artwork while browsing their music. Any updates to Plex which help those of us resolve missing or incorrect metadata is always greatly appreciated. I really don’t want to spend days and weeks and months fixing metadata and missing artwork. I hope Plex has the opportunity to focus on this aspect over other “features”.
Actually, I’d really, really love to see Plex release a stand alone metadata manager.
