Custom Filters

Problem is that I create a custom filter lets say genre ‘sci-fi’, and it works as intended - however if I add to that filter by pressing the + icon, and adding the genre ‘science fiction’ as I have movies classified in both - then plex fails to show any results. If I select any other two genres then they work together as expected.

If I select both genres in one box using the ‘or’ function then it also works - so it seems that the genre ‘science fiction’ only works if it is in the first block.

Its not a biggie, and you can get search results - provided it is in the very first block.

Not sure it its by design or a small bug over looked.

If you add a second line with another ‘genre’ filter condition, the two terms are considered as logically AND.
Which means that you would then only see movies which have both the genres ‘sci-fi’ AND ‘science fiction’ applied to them.

And I report it does not work. You dont get ANY results.

Well, of course you don’t get any. Since none of your movies has both genres applied at once.

You want a logical OR filter

Ok - I understand how it works now.
Thanks…

Yes I would like to chose if the individual filter item is a logical AND or a logical OR condition just like I can do in Excel or other software packages where filtering is used. (e.g. I should have to select “AND” or “OR” from a dropdown in addition to the selection of “CONTAINS” or “IS”)
