Custom transcoding profile

I read this old thread: Custom transcoding profile

Is this still accurate?

Beacuse the location of the original profiles moved to

/usr/lib/plexmediaserver/Resources/Profiles

But where can i put those profiles if i need to edit them?

i moved the corresponding profile (verified via debug log) to
/var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Profiles

and changed some settings but nothing seems to change (i want to transcode aac -> ac3 because of mapping errors).

any ideas?
