Customize and Filter 'Popular Tracks'

Hi there. I’ve been messing around with my music for a while and would like to suggest two features related to the “Popular Tracks” section for each artist.

1. Ability to filter out compilations, demos and live albums.
From what I’ve experienced, Plex fetch the popular track info from the agents, but then it builds the playlist based on the most recent version of those tracks in your library. Being able to set a library (or specific artist) filter to only studio releases would solve this issue.

2. Edit freely the ‘popular tracks’ of a selected artist
Ok, this is a long shot. But if we could also manually set up our own version of the popular tracks of a specific artist, kind of making our ‘best of’ playlist would give great depth to the music library management.

  1. had been requested before. Please use the search

  2. can be achieved by giving those best tracks a high “star” rating

Thx for the response, @OttoKerner

  1. Sorry, did a couple searches but found nothing directly related to this question

  2. Just tried here, but it seems that Plex applies the same rating to all versions of the track from the artist (if I have a compilation/demo/studio/live versions of “start me up”, the rating would apply to all of them).
And on top of that, changing the rating doesn’t impacted the ‘popular tracks’ from the artist even refreshing it.

  1. duplicate → Albums, Singles, Compilation, Live, and EP Separation
  2. popular tracks
