I have some damaged server files on my SSD, unfortunately. I was wondering what what the repurcussinos are from these files being damaged. Should I just delete them and let them rebuild or something?
And recovery of these files doesn’t seem to be too successful, so they will probably be lost.
.bif files are just the thumbnails that popup when rewinding/fast forwarding at the bottom of your screen, so at least of all the files, those are probably the ones that matter least.
I would just delete them. I think they will regenerate if you analyze the media files again manually.
I would do a scan of your SSD though and see if the hardware is failing…might be worth replacing the drive before things get too bad.
I second that. You should act quickly, because SSDs are usually not dying gradually, like some HDDs (if you’re lucky).
Be glad you caught it this early.
If there’s room in the machine, consider storing operating system and Plex data on separate SSDs.
