My SSD that had Windows and my plex files died on me the other day. I have replaced the SSD with a new one, installed windows and plex on the new SSD. Plex does not recognize the new install as being the same computer, and as such I am unable to pull up all my libraries. Is there a way for me to get plex to recognize this as being the same computer so that I do not have to start from scratch?

Not sure if it is relevant, but the previous SSD used build 19041 while the new SSD uses 19042

I suppose when you write the SSD with your server’s data died, you’re referring to the actual server data, not your media. With that gone, Plex will not be able to simply restore your old server – unless you have a backup.

If you have no backup, you’ll need to re-establish the server from scratch.
For that and in order to complete the setup of your new server (on the old/same PC), make sure to open the bundled version of Plex Web (e.g. http://127.0.0.1:32400/web if you’re on the same Windows machine – http://[PMS IP address]:32400/web otherwise).

Damn, well that sucks. Yeah all my actual media is on HDDs on the same computer so they weren’t affected by my SSD dying. Guess I’ll need to get to work remaking everything.

Any chance you stored the scheduled database backups off that SSD?

Unfortunately not, I use the HDDs basically just for storing media while everything else I had was on the SSD.
