it does put a black border around text based subs. which Plex player app are you using? not sure why text would be on top of of some other language. do you mean a file already has burned in subs? [image]

I rarely use subtitles, but my daughter -in-law and granddaughter use them all of the time and I have heard them mention the problem. This is exactly it, thanks for the mockup. youtube for example has this in its apps and on the desktop player for a real world example, just go into subtitle configuration for anything youtube
