I’ve been looking for a way to improve the subtitles for years and I can’t. the font of your subtitles is very thin, I have astigmatism and that’s why it is always blurry, if I put it in a larger size, it ends up getting too big and it bothers us if we are using the pc on our lap. for me the best alternatives using other players is to put the font in bold and or put a black background. every player I’ve used in my life has the basic function of putting a black background, including the plex for mobile, it makes no sense not to have this option for pc. I have the server on the pc and because of that I force myself to watch it on tv because it has a big screen and if there is a little problem it doesn’t bother so much, but if they implemented it for pc, it would be a thousand wonders.
From your parallel post in the tips & tricks / how-to thread I take it you already found how to change the font size, weight, color and borders by editing the mpv.conf file in the Plex Media Player / Plex for Windows / Plex HTPC app config directory?
Given Plex Media Player is no longer officially supported, I take it this is about Plex for Windows or Plex HTPC?
On what platform are you running those apps – is it a Windows machine?
On Windows, the mpv.conf file should be located/placed in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex HTPC\ – changes should take effect after restarting the app.
Thank you very much for your help, I managed to solve it. the simple fact of having bold and a bigger border has already improved a lot. What I didn’t get right to do was put it in the right folder, now it’s right.
