Database Backup Frequency Options (More frequently than every 3 days)

Plex currently has an option in its settings to allow a scheduled task to run every 3 days to do database backups. Personally, I wouldn’t mind those backups happening more frequently. Maybe every day.

My main reason is wanting this is when I’m messing with metadata, specifically music metadata and its ratings and whether or not its on a given playlist. It can be very easy to mess up metadata while letting plex scan for content after I’ve messed with the files.

You could always setup a backup yourself. The database file backup wouldn’t protect any custom-added artwork or anything like that.

I use a variation of this script. Few minutes to setup, and it’s very quick and reliable.

Oh. I absolutely agree that this would be really easy to setup myself. That’s just the thing, though. This would also be really easy for Plex to implement (I think).
