regardless of claims by staff and builders we do need a way to backup plex to a location of OUR choosing. this means a button either on the main plex server page or in the settings that pops up a dialog box and ask us where we would like to place our backup.
I’m confused. What more than this do you need? If it were me, I’d leave this alone and write a script that watches the default Plex backup and synced it to another location if I was this worried about it.

Settings > Server > Scheduled Tasks > Backup directory

To be clear there will not be another button to back up on demand which can already be done in the trouble shooting area of server settings.
if you want download it to particular folder right click on it and choose “Save link as” (on a Mac in chrome) or whatever the equivalent is on windows or browser of choice. and you can save it where ever you want.
