Hi there,
I think an amazing feature would be to allow the backup of selected fields like User Stats (whats been watched),
I’m thinking possible integration with a cloud provider like google drive, one Drive, or even the option to output to a zip file into a directory of our picking. So the user is able to upload the file once a week or whenever to our location of choice.
After reinstalling plex on a new box in case the old 1 dies we can simply log back into cloud provider and restore from the backup or download the zip file place it in the restore location and most importantly through the PLEX GUI, be able to restore that kind of stats.
Now I’m not talking metadata as in movie, tv show info, or artwork even unless that option is there for people who used custom artwork as that kind of data can just be redownloaded like it was in the first place, but this feature is for myself (and people alike) not losing where I got to on a tv show / Movies or at least a ballpark mark.
P.S I’m aware this can sort of be done, with exporting and reimporting (terminal/putty), but the way plex is moving more and more into the public eye (Novice users), I think making a GUI based backup and restore would be the next step.
Keep up the good work, Lifetime Plex Pass member and it was the best money I’ve spent in years on a service/software.
