Cloud backup for plex pass subs of what media has been viewed. If you have to reinstall the plex server plugin you could easily get your collection back to the state it was.
While I wish this was incorporated into Plex directly this can be achieved currently by install the trakt plugin and registering for an account. Hope this info is of some help.
I use Crashplan for backups - it can do selective backups down to the file or directory level. Knowing what I should backup (other than the video’s/pix) would be good to allow fore ‘quick rebuilding’ of a server if/when a re-installation is needed.
This would a be helpful even if this feature is not accepted.
