DD+ Atmos with Plex?

Hi,

I don’t know if this question has been asked and answered before but I can’t seem to find it even though I have looked everywhere here and Google.

I have a Panasonic HZ1000 tv with eARC, Apple TV 4K and Sonos Arc.

I can watch HDR10 movies but can’t output Dolby Atmos sound.

My question is – Can Plex on Apple TV 4K output Dolby Atmos with Dolby Digital Plus?
(Not Dolby TrueHD, that I already know that Plex can’t)

You can’t pass Dolby Atmos through arc. Plex doesn’t specifically support eARC. It may or may not work.

Sonos Arc, not the HDMI Arc :slight_smile:

I get Atmos with MrMc but I don’t want to use that cause MrMc can’t show HDR10 (Dolby Vision is working but is buffering a lot)

I take that back. Dolby Atmos can work if everything supports it. Looking up your TV and the Sonos ARC, they both support Dolby Atmos, and so does the Apple TV so this should be working. How do you know it’s not working? Does the Sonos have an indicator what audio it is receiving?

Yes, if the movie has Atmos (through DD+) The the will show Dolby Atmos on the tv-screen and in the Sonos app on my iPhone.

Now, it says Multichannel PCM 5.1

I get Dolby Atmos with Apple TV+ and Netflix.

Can you playback a video with Dolby atmos, let it play for 30 seconds, then grab the logs from the Apple TV. Apple TV Logs | Plex Support
