Decade radio and "Best of" compilations?

I can already guess the answer but I don’t suppose there’s any magic behind the scenes that allows Plexamp (or the wider Plex in general) to recognise release dates for tracks that feature on “best of” compilation albums is there? I often like to buy "best of"s for artists I don’t want to invest in a discography for, but it occurs to me that these are probably being omitted from the decade radios on Plexamp due to being released years (if not decades) after the initial release. Any way to fix this (short of splitting the tracks into original incomplete albums)?

There is not. Plex only stores release date of the album, not of the track.
The sampler’s contents may appear in the “decade radio” of the sampler’s release date.

I thought as much. Cheers for the info. Potential future feature there though- track-level initial release date metadata?

We have discussed this as a possible future enhancement, because I share the desire :grimacing:

Proper tag support would be a massive improvement for the Plex music library in general. Vote here: ID3 Tag support for ROBUST music library organization

Plex deal with various artists in a particularly bad way, and compilations and works with shared credits is a headache to manage currently.

All the track data.

Because the track is the only thing that matters.
