Default audio/subtitle just for some movies

Hello,

First of all, plex is awesome project! I didn’t use it much when i decided to support your work and buy plex pass.

I think it would be awesome feature if we could select for each movie (only for some) default audio/subtitle …

for example.
I’m running small WISP service and all my customers have plex with internet service.
I have a lot older users (50 years+) which are not really good with using any programs.

It would be great if i could set for synchronized movie default audio … just for few movies manually out of global settings and applied to all other managed users.

same with subtitles.

Not really… I have 20 neighbors connecting to my net free… Its registered as unprofit organization for network tehnology (I’m student of 2nd year - Informatic) So I’m interested in all fansy network tehnology so they can also watch my plex server 4free but only local. I’m not giving to noone public access because i have only 20mbit of upload at my 2x WANs. (2x D: 50 / U: 10)
They have to buy only ubiquiti antena and IF AccessPoint side dies, they have to share price of that AP for all that are connected to that AP. They like my “service” because i don’t charge them anything and i have reference when i finish my collage to get job easier. (In our country you have to have really good connection somewhere to get good job or you need to have good knowledge.

All my … I call them “customers” because that they are on mikrotik router as they are PPPoE clients over wireless… customers/clients Only they can access plex? What that is kinda forbidden or what? xD

Prepare a HowTo for your users, explaining how to set up the “automatic track selection” in a user’s account preferences.

Prepare your media accordingly.
Tag all tracks with their actual language. Put the “forced” tag on those subtitle streams which are for “foreign parts only”.

Remux the files so that the native language of your users comes first.

Too bad there is no way to prepare a default audio track. A lot of older films, expecially a lot of criterion blu rays, have mono audio and stereo commentary tracks. Plex will always pick the stereo commentary track as default no matter what is flagged as default or forced. This gets confusing for a lot of my older relatives as they have to start the movie and then back out to change the audio track once they figure out something is wrong with the audio. You referred to this as a bug here:

Is this still being looked into 2 years later?

We set the stream we want as the default stream when we make the files, and then Plex plays what it wants.

So we are still waiting for Plex to play the user assigned default stream instead of INcorrectly playing the stream it wants to play.
