Default poster for Groundhog Day is an atrocity

What happened to the top of the image? Why is this an AI generated Bill Murray that doesn’t look like actual Bill Murray?

(I’ve obviously already changed it to the TheMovieDB default poster, which is almost always better than Plex’s choice of poster, but I figured this one was egregious enough to actually report as a metadata error.)

Ah, thanks for the mention, I fixed mine after you pointed it out. With that one swap-over to a new poster/metadata provider, their choices of posters seem to be either auto-generated or fan-made.

Seems Plex has too many time been “caught” using official posters too often, so they outsourced posters to another provider. This provider sucks.

I wish I hadn’t refreshed metadata on my library after the change, too many horrible posters have popped up.

Plex gets movie posters from Gracenote, it might be better to report the issue there. I have never seen anyone from Plex confirm that they can even do anything with these reports, no matter how bad they are.

You’ve got options, you can always use custom posters and manually add them or if you want to get fancy you can use a metadata app to update them for you. You are never limited by just what is initially available through Plex.
