I recorded a fairly obscure movie and added it to a Plex library. The library’s metadata agent is Plex Movies (Legacy). The movie in question did not have a poster, but otherwise scanned properly (cast and description are correct). I then went to TheMovieDB and added four posters for the movie myself. I waited a few hours.
Unfortunately, when I tell Plex to “Refresh Metadata” or try using the pencil button to edit the metadata, I can’t make the posters show up. I can forcibly lock the poster by entering a URL to one of the posters on the TMDB, which is a fine solution, but I’m a little confused as to why the refresh approach won’t work.
I’m assuming Plex has their own intermediate cache of TMDB data and it’s not yet processed the posters I’ve added. Is there a way to notify Plex’s cache to update, if that’s the case? Regardless, I’d like Plex to choose the poster through the normal matching process, without forcing it to track a given URL.
