Once Upon a Time in the West metadata

So, the watch.plex.tv metadata is pretty messed up. There appears to be no poster, so none of the 92 (!) posters on TMDB are pulled over. The description is different from IMDB, TVDB, or TMDB, which is odd, but not too important.

Anyway, since this movie lacks any poster at all, any movie matched to this title uses a wide-screen screengrab from somewhere in the movie instead.

@Divideby0

Thanks for the report, and I’ve relayed it to the relevant team

And they responded, that we where forced to remove the posters due to legal disputes for that movie

Is this related to various other items missing posters, as reported in this post?

If you can not fix this problem, pls get the TMDB back into the new plex agent
so many movies affected

any updates for this issue?

You can always download the posters directly from like tmdb or tvdb, and then upload to your PMS.

Sadly, and as said, due to legal, we can not provide an alternative

Thank you for your response, but that’s, I’m afraid, a rather evasive way to put it. We used to have a great “alternative” before it was even a thing. It was Plex’s decision to retire old and all third-party agents in favor of its own metadata service, and now that there’s a problem to that approach, the solution is just “we can not provide an alternative” and “you have to do everything manually”?

And even “legal disputes” is too concise to explain the issue. Why these particular titles? Why removing all posters from which we used to be able to choose, as opposed to perhaps a few “disputed” images? Why it’s no longer possible to fallback to sources like TMDB etc in cases of such removals from Plex’s own service?

When we receive a takedown request, and it’s valid, we have to remove the images.

And the images we use, are from multiple sources, like tmdb and tvdb
