I'm using mac version of server, while using xbox one app it always transcodes even files which are combatible with Xbox one format support.
i have tested same files (with or without subtitles) using "media player preview" over DLNA using plex mac sever, which plays without transcoding.
i would prefer native/direct play for compatible files and also settings options for Xbox one app.
Currently the Plex app does not support MKV or DTS, the developers are working with Microsoft to change that.

do you mean Plex App doesn't support mkv container yet, even though Xbox One supports it?
Yes, the app doesn’t support it. Right now MKV is only supported in the preview Media Player.

As mentioned above, MKV is currently only supported by Microsoft applications, and no 3rd party ones like ours. We're working with Microsoft to hopefully bring this in a future update.
The Xbox One application will handle MP4s natively, containing either AAC or AC3 audio tracks. Everything else with be remuxed or transcoded. Hope that helps...
