"Delete after watching" DVR setting is not working

I have set “Delete after watching” to 1 day through the advanced settings for specific series. I have also ensured that “allow media deletion” is turned on, and can confirm I am able to delete media directly. However the episode never auto deletes per the setting. I have tried this multiple times on two different series and have waited extended periods of time to make sure it wasn’t a timing/scheduling anomaly. Is there something I am missing? Or is this a known bug?

As a second question…For a series with this selected, should I expect that if my DVR records an episode that I have already watched, and the episode is labeled “watched”, would this also be deleted after 1 day? In this scenario the episode is also not being deleted. But i am not sure if this is supposed to happen.

In both scenarios the setting does not appear to be working and the watched episode is not being deleted (1) where I actually watch the episode directly, it is marked as watched and just sits in my library, and (2) where I record the episode and it is already marked as watched.

Provided you are watching as the admin user. Logs from after scheduled tasks would show what is going on, up to and including database corruption.

Hi Tiebierius - I am logged into the admin user account when watching with my Roku App, so that should be correct. I have uploaded the Log file, please advise if there is additional debug recommended. Thanks

Also note the Series where I have “Delete after watching” enabled for 1 day is Fraiser.

If another program is touching the files then it is interfering with the Scheduled tasks.

I also notice several interface resets and possibility your machine is going to sleep.

Hi Tiebierius - Thanks for looking at this. I’ve confirmed my system shouldn’t be sleeping, Power setting for sleep is “Never”. I also confirmed I don’t have any other Scheduled Tasks running at this same time. The .TS files in my DVR are associated with WMP which “shouldn’t” interfere but I will disable WMP and check to see what happens. I also see this in the logs: “(it was added after it was last played)” which may answer my question on scenario 2 (Plex won’t auto delete if the episode is added and already marked as “watched”).

I am going to watch a specific unwatched episode, make sure it then gets marked as “watched” and then track it in the logs to see what happens to that exact episode after the scheduled tasks run overnight.

I have this same issue. Were you able to resolve it? What did you have to do?
