Delete from library option gone

Hi,

I recently lost the option to remove content from library. The option is gone. I don’t want to select "Delete from disk option’’ in settings. I had the option to just remove content and leave on disk before. It’s totally gone now. Anyone know why ?

I’m not aware of such an option. From what I’m aware it’s always been „delete from disk“ (requires the related setting to be enabled). There’s no option to just delete an item from a library via the user interface.

thx for reply. That’s weird. Up until a few days ago. I had the option of deleting something without removing it from disk. Now if I go in options and enable Delete ,it will prompt removal from disk before saying ok/yes.

Hmm. I was sure there used to be a “delete” from library.

Then again i do lots of my library work in Sonarr, Radarr. Much easier and there you can delete from library keeping the files.

How would that work? Plex would just detect the file again in the next scan, adding it back in.

  • (Now that I think about it, this would be a GREAT option for troubleshooting. I can’t tell you how many times I had to Plex Dance an item because I was doing file manipulation/upgrading and Plex failed to run detect intro properly. Being able to do all the functions of Plex Dance without having to move the media physically would be a godsend.)

Anywho, the only way I can think of being able to remove an item without deleting the source item would be if you were in your local “Downloads” section of your library. Deleting a local download would not remove the item from your server itself, but would remove the item locally.
