I remember I had the ability to do so in the past, but this feature disappeared after an update last year. These are only two settings to delete DVR episodes at the moment:
- set the maximum number of unplayed episodes
- delete episodes after playing
The problem for these two combined settings is:
I record daily local news (6pm - 6:30pm) and usually stop after 15 minutes because the important news is in the first half, then this episode usually is half watched around 40% - 60%. So, these partially watched episodes fall under neither of these two settings. The navigation to delete a single episode is a few clicks too much and becomes a little annoying.
I have attempted to set video played threshold to 45%, so partially watched episodes would be marked as watched after playing for 45%. But it’s a global setting, and my other important DVR episodes would get deleted if paused for too long.
I think the feature I would like to have is adding another setting in episode deletion:
- “Delete episodes after partially playing”.
I think the option is optimum, because it would not interfere the other two settings. But the developers may have better ideas.
