Deleted Plex collection still holds onto the collection name

Doing some cleanup in my library I had 2 collections for Millennium one made by me called “Millennium (US)” and one made by Plex called “The Girl - Millennium Collection” or something similar.
I liked my naming better but still wanted the metadata of the Plex one, so I deleted my collection “Millennium (US)” and try to rename the Plex one.

Here’s the issue, when I try to rename it, I can rename it whatever I want but not “Millennium (US)” when I do that, I get a “your changes could not be saved” error.
Only explanation is that the ghost of the deleted collection still hangs around and won’t let me name another collection by the same title. I’ve tried emptying the trash and rebooting the server, it still won’t allow me.

Is there any way to delete that collection for good or undelete it so that I can rename it and redelete it ?

two things to try:

  • let it sit over night so that at least one server maintenance cycle is passing
  • try unlocking the “Collections” input field in every movie which was a member of the old collection
