I started going through the process of updating my collections from one I created or where auto created by the old movie agent to ones created by the new scanner. Because I had added some new movies since converting my library over that auto added to a collection and I like how they pulled meta data and a single cover with descriptions etc.
Well I went through the process of taking my moves out of a collection and deleting the old collection. Then updated the meta data of the movies and then a new collection with meta data was created with the movies within it.
But these collections say the word collection after it. And I don’t really like that, I just want it to say the title. So I try to rename it, and I get a message “Your changes could not be saved.” For some reason, Sort title and Title cannot be changed on collections I have added since my last update to PMS
Collections added from the Plex Movie agent a month Prior to that and Manually added collections can be renamed. Did I miss a patch note, or is this a bug?
going direct to my servers IP in a browser does not work either.
I agree with your remark about the “Collection” suffix… certainly not a fan of that: this has been breaking my nicely build cross-library collections.
That being said… I’ve just tested this and I cannot reproduce this behavior.
Could you share an example of the exact error message you get (or is it really just the “your changes could not be saved”)?
I decided to make a new movie library for testing and it seems to only be certain collections. Specifically those that I had removed and then had the agent re-add.
Example: I had a collection called the “The Dark Knight”. I removed the movies from it, and then deleted it. Refreshed the Meta data which created “The Dark Knight Collection”. I tried to rename it back to “The Dark Knight” and it fails. If I try “The Dark Knight 2” it seems to work.
But in the new library a collection called “Ant-Man Collection” was created and I was able to rename it to just “Ant-Man”. I don’t have a collection for Ant-man in my library.
So seems Any collection from the agent cannot be renamed to match the name of a manually made collection, even if that collection has been deleted.
Try and run a “Optimize Database” (Settings -> Troubleshooting) and try again. This will clear out any old collection tags that may still be hanging around.
