Deleting downloads has become an exercise in frustration now that there is no automatic grouping. Please enable some sort of bulk delete option, the tried and true method that Photos uses; a select option with checkboxes next to all the titles, allowing the user to delete multiple items in one go. The current one-at-a-time method is especially frustrating on the iPad, on the iPhone at least you can swipe and then confirm fairly easily as the confirmation touch target is basically under your finger already, not so on the iPad.
Also, why aren’t TV series automatically grouped? Some sort of file management ability in Downloads would be great, folder creation for example.
On Android I had frustrations trying to clear downloads. I had to go to the Android Settings > Device Care > Storage > Show More (under Internal Storage) > Apps> Plex> Storage (under usage section) > You should see “Space Used” section. At the bottom you should see the option to delete data and cache.
Agree 100% and share your thoughts, as do many others. Let’s hope Downloads gets some additional love.
Confirming that this thread is about deletion (needing to delete each local downloaded file one by one), not just download, hence the solution provided above isn’t quite right for this issue. It’s actually simpler to delete the app and re-install, depending on how many shows you have.
It is possible to Downloaded grouped TV Series, I gather you would also like to download Episodes singularly and have it grouped into it’s designated Tv series folder. A form of Download Management which I believe your wish is in development.
The work around I mentioned previously will hopefully tie you over till a feature improvement is released. Downloads and Deletion by Season is possible currently, not perfect and agree.
I had a suspicion the way I was downloading televisions shows was part of the problem, a “problem” akin to Steve Jobs telling iPhone 4 users they were “holding it wrong”. Nonetheless, I then tried downloading an entire season at once and was asked “Do you want to only download unwatched episodes?” To which I replied “yes”, which likely reverted the process to an episode-granular download, preventing the client from grouping them.
So the problem is two fold, the inability to select multiple files for deletion, which should transcend season selection, and the lack of any sort of automatic grouping based on META data.
