Deleting Media From Plex on Remote NAS

Server Version#:1.20.4.3517
Player Version#: Any
I am storing much of my media on a NAS. The media that exists on the Plex Server I can delete from within the Plex App. However, I am unable to delete media on my NAS, from Plex. I assume that this is because Plex is running under its own account.

I understand that the Plex user can be changed, but I read that I could loose my history. It is possible to replicate the plex account on the remote machine? If so, I would need to know the credentials, but I am not sure that this is the best solution.

Thanks!!!

The NAS is only acting as a file server, not as a Plex server, right?
Yes, Plex is running as user plex on Linux. So that would mean that the file share on the NAS must grant plex “write” permissions, so it is able to delete media.
