Description in one language and Episodes in another for TV-Shows

Is there a setting to get the description in one language and the episodes in another?
Im from sweden and my dad and mom don’t have the best english, so sometimes it’s hard to understand the description in english.
So I want it in swedish like have fixed in the settings, but then also for some shows the episodenames changes to swedish as well.
Is it possible to just get the description in swedish instead?

Bump!

Anyone?

Im guessing no one have a answer for this?

Are your files in mp4/m4v containers?
If so, make sure Plex doesn’t read embedded meta data from these files (which might be in english).
Go to

  • Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheTVDB

In there, grab the line ‘Local Media Assets’ with your mouse and drag it downwards, so it ends up being at the bottom of the stack of active agents.
Repeat the same under

  • Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheMovieDatabase
  • Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - Plex Movie (Legacy)
  • Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - TheMovieDatabase

Afterwards, Refresh Metadata of the affected items.

If your library already uses the new “Plex TV Shows” agent, do this instead:
Edit your movie library
go to the ‘Advanced’ tab
clear the check mark out of “Prefer local metadata”

Afterwards, Refresh Metadata of the affected items.

Also verify that the affected series has indeed titles and descriptions in your local language. Depending on what the settings of your library say, the relevant web sites to look up your series are TheTVDB.com and TheMovieDB.org

My files are mkv files and named like this: Blue Planet II - S01E01 - One Ocean

And my library already used “Plex TV Shows” agent, and I did what you said but still the same.

But is it even possible to get the description in one language and episodenames in another?

Of course, if the metadata source has one of them translated. Hence why I recomended you to verify that by looking up the series.

So what’s the problem for me then haha?
Here is my settings:

You cannot have two different languages on the same item. If both strings are translated at the source (TVDB, TMDB, etc) then that’s what you will get based off the language.

You will have to manually edit the fields to achieve what you want.

Ah okay thanks for the answer.

You have “use original titles” ticked.
Which does what it says. You will get English titles for English movies/series if that is their original language.
And Russian titles when they were originally produced in Russian.
And Chinese titles when they were originally produced in Chinese.
etc pp.

Yeah I want english titles to be english, and swedish titles to be swedish titles.
I want the description in swedish and the titles in original titles.

I’m afraid you won’t get descriptions for everything in Swedish. And if Swedish is not available, Plex is falling back to English.
It all depends on whether the metadata sources of Plex have Swedish descriptions available or not for a particular item.

Movies: IMDb.com and TheMovieDB.com
TV Shows: TheTVDB.com and TheMovieDB.com

Yes that I understand.
But like I said from the beginning, if there was any way to just get the description in swedish but NOT the episodenames. But that dosen’t work, so I have to change manually instead.
